Women Can Try For Free: Dragon Boat Experience

As part of the International Women's Month celebration, women can avail of a free dragon boat clinic here in Cagayan de Oro City. The Dragon Boat Kagay-an, under its president, John W. Asuncion, calls on women to get a real feel of the sport through land and actual-water lessons offered by its numerous coaches every weekend for the entire month of March this year. In this video feature, young paddlers share their personal experiences in joining various teams. They said actual training and competitions have greatly altered their views about the capabilities of women as paddlers and other positions once aboard the dragon boats. Sios-e Online News Magazine talks to these enthusiasts who are very passionate in their invitation, not only to women but to all sectors of society. They said people from all walks of life should try the growing sport in the city, taking advantage of the Cagayan de Oro River.
