SIOS-E ONLINE NEWS MAGAZINE is an internet-based media department under the Unified Global Media Advertising UGMA focusing on local news and story features in and around Cagayan de Oro City.  UGMA is a DTI-registered company complete with Mayor's permit and BIR accreditation.  The main platform is the audio-video rendition of the news and other forms of entertainment and information.  The current frontline address of the news magazine is www.sios-e.com and Facebook (FB) with back-up uploads to Youtube.  The Electronic News Gathering (ENG) teams are composed of a reporter and cameraman with occasional assistance from a third crew member, depending on the nature of the coverage.

Established in September 12, 2019, Sios-e Online News Magazine or simply Sios-e Online, may be accessible through sios-e.com and by searching, using the key words "Sios-e Online" on FB and Youtube.  The FB page contains the daily news output and displays the current viewership numbers, as well as the likes and comments otherwise known as "engagements."  The posted news and feature stories as well as photos and other graphics will eventually remain accessible as long as FB allows their storage.

DEPARTMENT MISSION: Sios-e Online intends to serve the Northern Mindanao area, particularly the city of Cagayan de Oro, in the field of public information dissemination and the promotion of local and national businesses in terms of advertising space availability, usually in addition to that provided by the traditional media.  Sios-e Online gives local professionals and business owners an avenue to stage their business promotions at affordable rates.

FOUNDER BACKGROUND: Mauro Paler Sios-e, also over-all social media content producer, is a Mass Communication graduate and was an active member of the traditional media since 1995. He started as a field reporter for Radio  Station DyLA (The Voice of Labor) in Cebu City, eventually going up the ranks as a special events reporter, chief reporter, and FM-AM radio news editor. After being recruited for television news, Mr. Sios-e gained experience in field reporting using audio-visual techniques.  He served as an English-Cebuano news anchor in the government-run People's Television-Cebu (PTV-4 in Manila) under the Office of the Press Secretary. He also headed a team, under the first term of then Cebu City Mayor Thomas Osmena, tasked to produce at least 10 printed news items daily for city hall in English to be released to local and international media. After moving to Cagayan de Oro where his wife is from, Mr. Sios-e joined Cinema Television (CTV-8) there under the mentorship of the late Lorie de la Serna. In the late 1990's, Mr. Sios-e left for the United States where he further gained the technical skills to be behind the camera. These skills include professional photography, cinematography and post-production video editing.  In early 2019, Mr. Sios-e came back to Cagayan de Oro City and finally launched what is now Sios-e Online News Magazine in Facebook and Youtube.  Marlou Sios-e is the business manager and marketing head who also acts as media personality for Sios-e Online.

TECHNICAL ASSETS: Along with the years and years of personal experience of the founder and main content producer, Sios-e Online also has, under its disposal, frontline gadgets in news gathering and digital video production.  These include 4K and High Def cameras for news gathering and studio productions; LED lighting; grip equipment; equally important, professional audio recording devices such as those used in national and international broadcast productions; and editing machines, both desktop and i7 laptop technology capabilities. A possible number of ENG teams could be supported up to four (4) independent units excluding roving ENG mobile vehicles.
